Leadership & Clinical Expertise
Spectrum Eye Care is led by Dr. Caitlin A. Maciejewski, whose commitment to patient-centered care is rooted in both personal experience and professional service. Dr. Maciejewski decided to pursue optometry while in high school after witnessing her uncle lose his vision due to diabetes—a life-changing experience that shaped her passion for preventive eye care and early disease detection.
Originally from Montana, Dr. Maciejewski has proudly called Colorado Springs home since 2017. She served as an optometrist in the United States Army for the first three years of her career at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk, Louisiana, providing comprehensive and urgent eye care in a demanding clinical environment. During this time, her husband, Jeff, a United States Air Force Academy graduate, was serving in the United States Air Force. Jeff is now a Certified Financial Planner. Dr. Maciejewski also served veterans at the Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center.
Together, they are raising two children, Calvin and Lyla, who keep life busy and joyful. As a family, they enjoy hiking, skiing, and international travel—values that reflect Dr. Maciejewski’s appreciation for active lifestyles and the role healthy vision plays in everyday life.

Education, Training & Professional Involvement
Dr. Maciejewski holds a Bachelor’s degree from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus University Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2014. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Colorado Optometric Society, and participates in the InfantSEE program, which promotes early eye health for infants.

Our Legacy
Spectrum Eye Care was founded by Dr. Mark D. Bennett, whose vision established a lasting standard of excellence in the community. The office began as Briargate Optical in 1989, with an early emphasis on optical services. Under Dr. Bennett’s leadership, the practice evolved into a comprehensive eye care provider known for personalized attention, advanced diagnostics, and patient education.
That legacy continues today, guiding every aspect of care at Spectrum Eye Care and reinforcing our commitment to serving families with integrity, compassion, and clinical excellence.
